This year Burrator Class took part in a number of activities as part of their residential trip. Pupils from Burrator Class took part in some water sports at Haven Banks Centre, which is situated on the banks of Exeter Canal. Pupils had the chance to try paddle boarding and also to build and sail their own rafts.
Burrator Class helped to organise the Enterprise Fair again this year, where pupils ran stalls to generate money for the class and for charity. We have developed a new ‘wellbeing garden’ on the school field, with the help of the Abbey Gardening Department. The school kindly received a donation from a local family, which has enabled the school to embark on this project. St Mary’s hosted an inter-school Year 5/6 Kwik Cricket tournament for local Catholic schools.
Pupils in Burrator Class had the opportunity to learn some archery skills with the help of local coaches.
Pupils in Fernworthy Class were visited by John Ingham from CAFOD, to hear about their Zero Hero campaign. Burrator Class pupils took part in abseiling, rock climbing, high ropes and zip wire activities as part of their residential activities week.
All of the classes have been working on a range of environmental art and design technology as pat of the school’s Environmental Arts project.
