Fernworthy Class enjoyed an afternoon finding out about how members of the school community have celebrated Christmas around the world in different countries.  One of our governors and a pupil even presented Powerpoint presentations about how Christmas is celebrated in Ethiopia and Spain. Mrs Hutchinson got into character as Guy Fawkes  to launch Venford Class topic about Celebrations and Festivals.   The pupils produced some wonderful creative writing following this role play.

The whole school participated in a multi-cultural day based around the Festival of Divali.  After a whole school assembly, each class participated in craft, cookery, musical, art, literacy and dance activities to deepen their understanding of this festival and the culture that surrounds it.  Parents were invited into school at the end of the day… Read more »

Pupils performed ‘Peace Child’ at the end of the summer term.  The story revolves around the far away land of Mambica, where two opposing tribes eventually discover peace through the gift of a new-born child.
