Cycle training
Some pupils in Fernworthy Class took part in a cycling day, to improve their skills and learn a bit more about staying safe when they are out on the roads.
Powerlifting champion
Mrs Freeborn’s daughter, Ellen, came into St Mary’s to talk about her career as a powerlifter. Ellen talked about how much training is involved and how she got into the sport. Fitness Circuit Fundraiser
The School Council decided that they wished to raise money for Cancer Research as one of their charities this year. School Council Fundraiser for Cancer Research
The School Council decided upon Cancer Research as one of its chosen charities, following a request from one of the pupils in school. Dance Celebration
Each class has worked with a local dance teacher for five weeks to create a dance based upon their topic for the half term. Parents/carers were invited to a Dance Celebration where each class performed their dance.
Lacrosse
Pupils in Key Stage Two have taken part in after school ‘lacrosse’ sessions run by Primary Sports.
Sports Day
We held our annual sports day this year which consisted of athletic style activities in the morning and more traditional races in the afternoon. Bikeability
Pupils in Year 5 and Year 6 took part in Bikeability sessions with Gideon, our cycling instructor. Pupils took part in five sessions during the week to build their confidence in cycling and in road safety.
Devon Air Ambulance Fundraiser
Pupils from our Go Active breakfast club helped to plan and organise an obstacle course to help raise money for the Devon Air Ambulance.
