Fernworthy Class were invited to Dainton Golf Club to a Tri-Golf festival organised in conjunction with South Dartmoor Sports Partnership. The pupils were able to refine some of their golf skills during the afternoon and learnt new skills from the staff and young leaders at the festival.
Year 5 and 6 pupils were invited to attend the South Dartmoor dance festival with other local primary schools. The children had worked hard to produce a dance which was performed in front of hundreds of people at South Dartmoor Community College. The school councillors designed and organised the school’s obstacle course which was completed by all pupils and some staff, in return for a donation to raise money for Sports Relief and Rowcroft Hospice, charities selected by the school council this year. Congratulations to the tag rugby team made up of pupils from Year 5 and 6 who attended a Tag Rugby festival at Newton Abbot Rugby club. Following some Tag Rugby training sessions in P.E. lessons at school, pupils competed against other schools in the tournament and came fourth out of sixteen schools.
Some of our pupils from Year 5 and 6 were invited to take part in a Crolf Tournament at Stover School. The game of Crolf is a mixture of golf and croquet with a strong emphasis on etiquette and sportsmanship.
