Remembrance Day

Two of our pupils represented St Mary’s Catholic Primary School at the Remembrance Day service in Buckfastleigh by laying a wreath on the war memorial as part of the service.

Harvest

We celebrated our Harvest Mass again this year and lots of parents/ carers attended.  Each class also made food which was sold after school to sell after school to raise money for CAFOD.

Choristers

This year the school is working with the music department at Buckfast Abbey to offer the opportunity for pupils to become Choristers as part of the Buckfast Abbey choir.  The children have choir practices before school as well as an after school practice and then sing in the Abbey on a Sunday.

Anti-Bullying Week

The School Council reviewed the Anti-Bullying Policy which was written by the children at St Mary’s.  This policy was then shared with everyone in our assembly about Anti-Bullying.

Take a look at our policy by following this link: Children’s Anti-Bullying Policy

Brother Bear trip

As part of their topic, learning about how different people help us, Meldon Class went to Buckfast Abbey to learn a bit more about the life of the monks that live there.  Each person was also given a bear who joined them on the tour of the Abbey.
