Bridge Building

Burrator Class investigated bridges and learnt about Isambard Kingdom Brunel, a famous Victorian engineer as part of their design technology work. Pupils considered the most effective structures and worked as a team to plan and create their own bridges, which they then evaluated.

Burrator's Victorian Day

To experience what it was like being a Victorian school child, Burrator Class pupils dressed and behaved in the same way as Victorian school children. The day was filled with activities that Victorian children would have carried out, including practising handwriting and learning times tables.

Robots and electricity

Fernworthy Class have studied electricity as part of their ‘Rise of the Robots’ topic.¬† As part of the work they studied ‘The Iron Man’ and investigated a ‘crime’ when the library was left in chaos after the Iron Man had visited the room!¬† Their skills relating to electrical circuits were also used to create their own light boxes at the end of term.
