CAFOD assembly and Harvest Celebration

St Mary’s were pleased to welcome John Ingham back again to school to talk about the important work that CAFOD does around the world.¬† This time, he spoke about CAFOD’s harvest campaign and how¬†communities in El Salvador are growing their way out of poverty.¬† This linked in well with St Mary’s own Harvest Celebration which raised aware of our global neighbours and raised money for this charity.¬† Children in each class made food which was sold at the end of the Harvest Celebration along with refreshments which were provided by FOSMS.¬† Alongside this fundraising, families also gave donations of produce for the local foodbank in Buckfastleigh.¬† ¬† The Rev’d Tom Benson came into school to thank the children for their work and also to share a bit more about the invaluable work that the food bank carries out in the local area.
