DSCF1998A very successful Open Day was held this term which began in the morning with Mass and was followed by an open afternoon with around fifty visitors being welcomed to St Mary’s.  The day was held to mark the completion of Phase 1 of the building work, enabling everyone in the local community and prospective parents to see the improvements that have taken place over the past twelve months and the new facilities now on offer at the school.  Year 6 prefects worked as tour guides, showing visitors around the school and talking about life at St Mary’s.  It was lovely to see many past pupils attend the Open Day and talk to current pupils, about how school life has changed.  Some people were able to identify themselves in the old photographs displayed in the school.

Visitors were also invited to try some of the wonderful food on offer daily as part of the school meal menus provided by Dart Abbey Enterprises.

Everyone who attended the Open Day was asked to fill in our visitors’ book and record their thoughts about the school.  There were some wonderful comments written about the school, here are just a few:

‘I had a really informative visit and thoroughly enjoyed seeing the beautiful new school.  Thank you so much.’
