Through the Devon Development Education centre, St Mary’s has linked up with Mubende Nabingola Primary School in Uganda in the district of Mubende. The project focusses on organic food growing in Uganda and also in the UK. The school gardening club have been communicating with the school through text messages and we have received photos of the school from Sue Errington and Victor Bukenya, a student who lives on a farm in Uganda and gave a presentation about his life in Uganda. There have been some interesting things discovered so far, including the fact that the food grown at Mubende Nabingola Primary School is used to feed the pupils so it is very important that the gardens are well cared for!
