ABOUT US

St Mary’s Catholic Primary School is a religious order school, owned and supported by Buckfast Abbey Trust. We are part of Plymouth CAST Multi Academy Trust which includes thirty-five Catholic schools, and one nursery, of the Diocese of Plymouth. Further information can be accessed from their website: www.plymouthcast.org.uk/

St Mary’s is a small, friendly school, committed to the welfare and safeguarding of its pupils. To read our safeguarding policy, or to find out more information please view our School Safeguarding Information.

If you are interested in our Foundation Stage Unit, please take a look at our Early Years section on the school website where you will find further details and an application form (hard copies of all policies can be obtained from the school office upon request).

We were extremely proud to have received a letter from the Secretary of State for Education, who congratulated St Mary’s on being in the top 1% of primary schools in England for reading and writing.

We encourage all pupils to be hard-working, polite, cheerful and ready to help others. Our curriculum is designed to be creative, challenging and inspiring, enabling our pupils to become independent and resilient learners. All of our staff work in close partnership with parents and governors, to create a close and caring community.
